Java Dock, located in Port Washington, WI, is a casual cafe and coffee lounge, and also the intergalactic home of Sconuts®!

In business since 1997, Java Dock came under new management in 2010. Their static web presence was nearly as old as the business, and the domain name and other critical information for managing the site had not been transferred during the sale, because the sellers simply couldn't remember who had done the work nor who was hosting the site.

Raindear Media tracked down the original site creator and host who turned out to be a regular customer at "The Dock," and also the host of their regular Monday night chess nights (small world, eh?). The hosting transfer was completed and Raindear Media got started on updating and converting the site to a dynamic Drupal web system.

Java Dock's new owner, Brian Carlson, is a whimsical fellow with a cadre of alter-ego bloggers. Besides providing basic cafe menu and event information of local interest, of critical importance was giving Java Dock a platform for getting out the word about Brian's creation, Sconuts®. Sconuts® are donut-shaped scones, and Java Dock makes them starting with a traditional English recipe (not as flaky and sweet as an American scone) and then they add all kinds of fresh ingredients to come up with unique new flavors each day. As Brian says, if you suggest something legal to add, he just might do it.

Right now it's strictly a local thing, in Port Washington, but Java Dock's got big plans for expanding their Sconuts® empire, and Raindear Media will be there to help.
