The Wine & Words Family of Businesses includes two retail wine and gourmet food stores and the Back Bay Café, a fabulous restaurant, all located in the rural inner banks of North Carolina.

They have a very loyal local following, but the location for these businesses was particularly challenging when it came to reaching out to potential tourist traffic, beyond the sparsely populated area. They'd had a web site since they opened their business over 5 years ago, but it was capturing only about 50 visitors a month, and most of those were from the local customers checking to see what was new on the cafe menu. They wanted a way to reach out not only the tourists already in the are, but also those who may be researching future trips and/or business opportunities in the area.

Raindear Media re-designed their website to use a Content Management System that made it easy and affordable for them to keep the site up to date. We also optimized the site for search engine visibility, and set up an internet advertising campaign.

Their new site has been up and running since the Spring of 2008, and now gets seen by over 500 visitors every month, and typically about 60% or more of that traffic comes from organic (free) search engine referrals.
